A lot of people have responded to my plea for help in finding the birth, marriage and death record of my ancestor Benjamin RHINES but so far there has been nothing concrete. I would like to add this information, from the photocopied parish register.: On 28 July 1793 Benjamin RHINES & his wife Elizabeth had their son, (Benjamin, born 13 Feb. 1793), baptised by Thomas Toller in Kettering. On the same day, 28 July 1793, Thomas RHINES and his wife Mary had their son (Joseph, born 14 June 1793) baptised by Thomas Toller in Kettering. Because of these simultaneous baptisms I am surmising that Benjamin RHINES and Thomas RHINES are brothers, perhaps born 10 years apart. The IGI record that young Benjamin is the son of Thomas RAYNES/RHINES & Mary BILTON is incorrect. (A good lesson to always check the source material). This baptism record is the only documentation that I have been able to find of the elder Benjamin RHINES. It is like he never existed. Where was he born? Where was he married? Where did he die? I am sure that the spelling of his last name went through many variations but I have always drawn a blank. Any insights/suggestions gratefully received. Malcolm
