Can I just endorse my fellow geneologists' messages of outrage. Outside work, I am a British Red Cross volunteer (& ex-staff member) who is based in Birmingham in the middle of a very ethnic environment with 2 mosques, Hindu & Sikh temples. Buddhist Wats as well as Catholic & C. of E. churches within a stone's throw. Many of our volunteers in the refugee and asylum seekers arena, have come themselves from areas like the Sudan. The shops around are mainly muslim owned and their goods reflect Islam's beliefs, but they welcome me as well as a veiled Muslim woman. However e-mails like that threaten the goodwill and relationships that all of us in the Red Cross, and elsewhere in the wider community, are seeking to promote good relations.Sue Hope > Date: Fri, 7 Dec 2007 21:34:08 +0000> From: berry.wraight@googlemail.com> To: MAshwell@aol.com> CC: leicestershire-plus@rootsweb.com> Subject: Re: [LEI] Fw: Please Forward to all> > Thank you Mark for replying to this so quickly.> > My first reaction was surprise to see the initial e-mail included on this> list which turned to outrage when I read it and was very willing to forward> it.
