I visit Dunton Bassett occasionally, and one of the village pubs was closed down a few years ago. It has since been demolished and housing built on the site. I'm fairly certain that this was The Crown and Thistle. Next to this site is the site of the former Methodist Chapel, which has a plaque on a wall indicating that the Chapel once stood there. I don't suppose that the builders will do the same for the pub site. Brian Binns
