Thank you all for trying to help, I thought I finally had solved my brickwall. Patrick Akins and Ellen Conway had a daughter Bridget 10 born in Liverpool on the 1861 census so I presumed they married before than, the family came from Ireland at some point and could have been married there but I can't find any records in either countries. I found a Ellen Conway with a baby daughter Bridget on the 1851 census in Liverpool, this Ellen was a widow and maybe that is my Ellen and I am looking in the wrong places. Ellen on the 1851 census lived next door to a shoe shop and Patrick was a shoemaker so I also got the idea maybe that is how they met. I found a daughter's marriage record and it had mother's maiden name as Conway but in those days someone could have presumed a previous marriage name was the maiden name. On the 1861 census their next daughter was born 2 years after Bridget so I just presumed that Bridget would be Patrick's natural child. I couldn't find the family or Patrick on the 1851 census. If anyone has any suggestions where else I can look it would be appriecated Thanks again Sandi On Dec 27, 2007 4:50 AM, Firebird <sparrer@gmail.com> wrote: > Sandi Akins wrote: > > > Hi, this question may sound stupid but, can a marriage be registered > > on one page same volume for the groom and a completely different page > > for the bride, I am not talking one page difference.
