Hi I don't know if anyone else has noticed an anomaly on maps.live.com, where they've invented a village called 'Newtown Limford' next to Groby Pool: http://maps.live.com/?v=2&sp=Point.ssb74tgwxkpj_Untitled%20item___&encType=1 Well, I've been puzzled by this for a while. The same village does not appear on multimap: http://www.multimap.com/maps/?hloc=GB|newtown%20linford#t=l&map=52.67687,-1.24234|14|4&loc=GB:52.68334:-1.23101:14|newtown%20linford|Newtown%20Linford,%20Leicester,%20Leicestershire,%20England,%20LE6%200 Or indeed on the Ordnance Survey Maps, or on Streetmaps http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=451500&y=309500&z=5&sv=451500,309500&st=4&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf&ax=451500&ay=309500 I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed this extra village? I'm thinking of e-mailing maps.live.com and pointing out their mistake, as I imagine this could be somewhat confusing for genealogists who are looking up Leicestershire villages but don't know the area? Hold on! I have just clicked into Google maps and it is there as Newtown Li N ford.
