Hello, I am clutching at straws here to try and find out what happened to my cousin Jean Pownall. Jean was born in Wilmslow, Cheshire in 1936. The last time I saw was when she was a bridesmaid at my marriage in 1953. We lost touch after that. However, in the 1970's Jean's husband, who I do not know, called to see my mother in Bosley in Cheshire to tell her that Jean had passed away and he was on his way back to Leicester with his three young children. My mother gave me a very scant account of the visit because she was not at all well and died very soon after. I was led to understand that Jean and her husband were farming in the Leicester area. I have searched and contacted several men who married a Jean Pownall but not had any luck at all. My search has been severely hampered because I don't know Jean's married name. If anyone knew a Jean who heralded from Cheshire living in the Leicester area It would bring about the fall of my very high brick wall. Any help will be very much appreciated.
