Can anyone help me to break down my brick walls ? I am looking for information to help me find the following - 1) Birth/Baptism of SOPHIA ROGERS - c1782 Sophia married JOHN BRADSHAW at St Mary's Nottingham on 25 October 1803 where they had two children born/baptised. By 1813 they had moved to Quorndon (John's place of birth) where they raised their family & where Sophia died in January 1849 aged 66. The 1841 Census indicates that she was not born in Leicestershire - so where/when ? 2) Birth/Baptism of JOHN SLACK - c1756 John married MARY DEXTER at Belton on 2 July 1786 before moving to Shepshed, where he died in April 1833 aged 76. He presumably was a man of some means as he is listed on the 1823 Shepshed Valuation as occupying a house with area 1p and valuation 14s.0d, but where/when he was born is a mystery. 3) Marriage of EDWARD BROTHERHOOD and ELIZABETH ? - c1744 I have details of the baptisms & burials of varous children of Edward and Elizabeth (including my direct ancestor JOHN BROTHERHOOD bapt. 25 March 1750) at Barrow Upon Soar between 1745 and 1765 but their marriage alludes me. Derek, I have a Thomas BROTHERHOOD born circa 1848 Shepshed on my tree but can't find out anything about him. From his marriage certificate to Eliza ORRINGE in 1873 he said his father was William BROTHERHOOD deceased. On all the census records after his marriage the name has changed from BROTHERHOOD to ATKINS, but his children were registered as BROTHERHOOD except the last child in 1892. Have you come across a Thomas or William BROTHERHOOD in your research.
