Yes the HOLMES' had 2 stints there. Can someone tell me the way to establish when the HOLMES' bought and sold the property. My Great Grandfather owned and ran a farm in Queniborough around 1880 unfortunately I do not know which farm it was Sam North was a grazier/butcher but left around 1900 and moved to Belgrave in Leicester where he moved into being a butcher. Margaret, The names you mention are not familiar to me even though I lived there between 1953 to 1971. My guess is that James HOLMES owned the farm as from "about" 1940.
