Hi, Vern, Were you aware that the London Road Baptist Church is no longer there? I do not have any details, but obviously it must have been there in 1931. Much earlier, I had an grand aunt (my grandmother's sister, Hannah Tindall Wardle, who attended London Road Baptist Church. She may have been buried there a few days after her death 01 October 1901. I wonder if the churchyard had a cemetery or whether these Baptists were buried in some non-conformist cemetery elsewhere. Or, if the church had a cemetery, did they go to the tedious lengths to move all of the graves someplace else? I find it odd that descendants of Hannah Wardle (some are even family historians) do not know where she was buried! If you find the relatives you are seeking, would you please ask where this church normally buried their dead? Thanks. W. HARRINGTON Hi Everyone I was wondering whether anyone on the list might have information on Rev C. W. Harrington. He married Ruby Webb in 1931 in Croyden. The announcement in the Nottingham paper said that he was the newly appointed minister of the London Road Baptist Church in Coalville. From newspaper searches, it appears that he did not stay in Coalville very long, although there seems to have been another Rev C W Harrington also. My interest in Rev Harrington is that I have an undated newspaper article that mentions that he lived in Coalville House, which was built by my ancestor William Stenson. If Rev Harrington had children, I would like to try to contact them (or their descendants) to see if they might have a photo of Coalville house. Any help, leads, would be appreciated.
