Hi Nivard and Everyone Thanks for the link to the video of the Coronation parade. I was in it, on the Parks Dept. sports float, along with a school friend. I was a hockey player and my friend a tennis player. Subject of some amusement back at school from others who knew we were/are still not interested in sport. I tried to play the video but it wouldn't work properly. I saw lots of soldiers, over and over again, and at least confirmed from the rain-proof outfits worn by the crowd that it WAS raining, if only intermittently. I remember when we were exchanging nostalgic email someone said they didn't remember it raining. My reply emails keep disappearing in this new system so I'll quit while I'm ahead!
