    3. Hello Lynne I believe you are correct in thinking that John Stringer often acted as a witness for couples married at St. Margaret's. He appears as a witness at the weddings of several of my ancestors who were married there. He is not an ancestor of mine. I was puzzled that his name came up so often and came to the conclusion that John Stringer was employed by the Church and was called on to be a witness when needed at marriages that took place at St. Margaret's.
