This request was posted some time ago without any known response. Hopefully new members of the list may be able to help. Seeking information relating to John Crisp who married Betsy Elizabeth Smith. John was born circa 1744 and had two known children - Arthur Ernest born circa 1877 and Ada Elizabeth born circa 1881 both reputedly in Leicester. The family later migrated to Tasmania where Arthur Ernest served with the AIF during WW1. It was on his attestation papers he quoted a date of birth as 19 Apr 1878, born Leicester. Such has been the difficulty in tracing this family that I may have to resort to looking at all births on 19 Apr 1878 - has anyone attempted this before? An associated family name is WALTON who also migrated from Leicester to Tasmania sometime in the 1880s. Any help will be appreciated. Les Shephard.
