Hi Carol Neither organisation was in existence at the time of this boy so it must be another organisation if indeed it was one at all and not a private affair Barnardo was only born in 1845 and the British Home Children seems to have started in 1870 It does sound odd that at that time they would go to such trouble as to send a one to three year across the Atlantic, it does make you wonder if money was the motive especially given the status of the adopting parent Best wishes Nivard Ovington, in Cornwall (UK) > Hi - > > A quick search of the Government of Canada's Library and Archive > Records shows approximately 10 different Askew children arriving in > Canada.
