I am researching a War Memorial in Oakham and I need some assistance please. My questions are: When did Charles Horace Grey go to South Africa? Is there any detail of his involvement in the Boer War? How can I find an address for his widowed mother in about 1922 when all the records say is Mrs Story, Oakham? I have checked and she was not there in 1901 Can you recommend a website for these please? Albert Henry G Grey married Jun 1877 to Alice HOLFORD Alice St. Geo. H. Sq. Their son was born Dec 1879 Grey Charles Horace Kensington 1a 53 A local magazine states in Spring 1918: "CHARLES HORACE GREY L/Cpl South African Infantry, Killed in action on September 20th near Ypres. Aged 38. He also fought through the Boer War." The only information I have on parents is Mrs Grey, Oakham from Story. There is no mention of parents on CWGC.Question Alice and Albert?
