Iva, I don't know about the CD but I used the web site http://www.historicaldirectories . It supposedly covered from 1750 to 1919. The project was excellent for the years it covered but coverage for what I see as the most important years (ie before censuses and registration) wasn't very comprehensive. Unfortunately, I understand that the project has now finished.
