Can sks help with this one? I am trying to find out what this ladies first husband's name was an also what her maiden name. She is Harriet Sikes/Sykes and a widow in 1870 when she married Alexander Young Stirton in Leics (FreeBMD 7a 257). Harriet NEEDHAM married James Parke SIKES March Qtr 1861 at Peterbro (!) Vol 3b page 269. They are on the 1861 Census together at Tilton, Leicestershire - no children yet, obviously, but I should think it is definitely the right couple, especially as James is quite a bit older (43). Let me know if you want more info. on the census and I will send it off list.
