Hello Gail I had a similar problem, I thought my grandparents were buried in Welford Rd in the early 50's. I live in Australia but while on holiday in Leicester I visited the Council records office and the lady there was very helpful, firstly checking Welford Rd and not finding them, she checked Saffron Hill cemetery and located them there. I was then able to go to the cemetery and locate the graves. Lansdowne Road is not to far away from Saffron Hill. There is a contributor to this list (who's name escapes me at the moment but I'm sure other people will know) who voluntee's work in the council cemetery records office and might be able to help you.
