Is there anyone on the list who has access to the baptisms of St. Mary's, Leicester? Due to ill health I am unable to get to the records office at Wigston in the foreseeable future and I am having a problem sorting out my "SCOTTON" family. I am initially looking for any baptisms for the children of Peter & Ann Scotton in the timeframe 1830-1850. After that it appears that at least one of their daughters had a number of illegitimate children, but most of them were born & died between censuses, making it difficult to establish which of the many burials of young children are hers or her siblings. The timeframe for these children is 1850-1875. So any baptisms between these dates whether to a single mother or couples would be appreciated.
