Thanks Ann-Marie and all who answered A further question in 1897 would a couple who were say one Church of England and the other Catholic been able to marry in a Catholic Church? If the answer to this question is no, how long a period of time would the conversion have taken place for them to marry? Would this show on their marriage certificate? Is there anyone who would have the parish registers to see when my granfather converted if infact he converted just before he got married. My father was baptised and confirmed the day he married my mother in a Catholic Church.
