Lyn, In 1871 William is living at 45, Vine Street in the All Saints parish of Leicester with William Barsby, aged 62, b. Leicester and Hannah Barsby, aged 64, b. Hinckley. I suspect that Hannah is William's sister. In 1851 and 1861 William b. abt. 1802 is also stated as b. Hinckley. Mary Eyre nee Mason appears to have died before 1841 as she is not with William who is stated as b. Leicestershire in the 1841 census of Leicester All Saints. The 1841 census states that William and Hannah Barsby have a nine year old son, Edward. You will not find William Eyre's birth in the civil registration records as they did not start until 1837. You might expect to find his and Hannah's christenings in the parish register or non-conformist registers for Hinckley but they are not on the IGI. We know he married Mary Mason in 1824. We also know he had a sister Hannah, but I can't find a record of a Hannah Eyre born in Leicester on the IGI. He died in 1874 and he left a will, which mentions his sister Hannah. Of all the birth records I have searched around 1800 +/- several years I can find none for William Eyre in Leicester. Does Hinckley get listed as Leicester or does it have it's own separate records? Thanks in advance.
