Thank you Nivard for your reply. It seems that most of the Ensor people in Leicester were my maternal ancestors and most were tailors. From what you have given me it would appear that the occupation of "sailor" actually was "tailor" so with a bit more digging, I hope that I will be able to tie them in to mine.
