Hi Leicestershire One curious question. Earlier this year I ask what the notation M42 meant on the GRO records. I received the appropriate answer. I requested the birth certificate from the local registrar, I know the mother was unwed at the time of birth, It came back with a compliments slip explaining the wording is as recorded, and a name difference.
