I would be grateful if someone is able to sort out a problem of two William ROYCEs both born, according to the censuses in Sewstern?(I think but can't check as I don't have access to Ancestry)?and both registered in the June Q 1849 as below. ? Births Jun 1849 (>99%) ________________________________ Royce William Oakham 15 755 ? Royce William Melton Mowbray 15 232 I believe one is the son of Joseph ROYCE and Susannah BURROUGHS, both born in Sewstern and living there in 1851. The other being the son of Mark ROYCE and Elizabeth SELBY, he of Buckminster and she of Sewstern and living in Sewstern in 1851 also. ? Sewstern and Buckminster are both in the Melton Reg Dist so?who is whose son? ? Further one of the boys married Emma CUTTS in the?Chesterfield Reg Dist in the Mar Q 1872; again, which one? ? Any help gratefully received.? I am going to try the Derby list too. ? As they are only small twigs from my wife's CHATTERLEY family tree, her grandmother was a ROYCE, I am not willing to purchase the certificates!!?
