    3. Hi List, I've just been on the new familysearch website and found that it has been changed again (its now new new). I used to be able to search for a surname and a location (e.g. a town or county) and made quite a few good discoveries that way. Now the location box is no longer part of the main page. I can't even achieve the same result by just choosing a surname and whittling the results down step-by-step (e.g. Europe, then England, then Leicestershire). Its time-consuming, and I seem to get fewer matches than appeared previously. Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a way to get the same result with the new site? The batch number search is good if you know the number. Sandra

    3. You need "eagle eyes" for this latest version of Family Search! They seem to have released this new version gradually over to last 2 weeks and I've been exploring it for about a week. As you say the home page only has name boxes BUT if you look just below these boxes you will see in white writing "more search options", click on this and you can put your place names in. 3. Hi Lin, The page I was talking about was the newest search page (3rd version of the search page) on New Family Seach, we all had the white page then it was changed to another white one with various options below the search boxes. For some reason only some people had the latest 3rd version which was dark grey with photos on it, it seemed to be a worldwide searchpage as it listed the 3 latest worldwide databases added to the site aongst other things. Presumably which search page you got depended on which browser and operating was being used. However saying all this the super duper grey page has disappeared and I seem to have gone back to the second version which is the one Nivard has given you the link for. I think the databases have stayed the same throughout. 3. Hi Judy I use familysearch (both sites) virtually every day and have not seen a different home page for a few weeks since they introduced the latest one with the search boxes under the names But they do have a history of changes being added without warning, perhaps the one you saw was a trial and may be in the pipeline to be rolled out at some point I can't see a mention of it anywhere even on the fs blogs but thats not to say its not going to happen :-) Since its inception it has got better over time and no doubt will continue to do so Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) Hi Lin, The page I was talking about was the newest search page (3rd version of the search page) on New Family Seach, we all had the white page then it was changed to another white one with various options below the search boxes.
