    3. Hi All No test messages to the list please. If you do want to check if a mailing list is working, a better idea would be to send an actual message to the list, one containing appropriate matter for that list. Never know, but you could end up getting answers to something you have been trying to obtain for a long time. 3. Hi Bob I went to the library this morning and checked out Loughborough Echo and Loughborough Monitor for May and June 1945. They both reported the street parties and gave some detail for a few of them. Unfortunately Oxford Street was not featured in either paper. There was a mention in the Monitor which listed some of the streets that the mayoral party visited and Oxford Street was one of them. But that was it I afraid. There was a photo taken that day out on the street opposite my home which showed all the people who lived in that part of Oxford Street. There were about 30 to 35 people in the photo, and I was seated on the side of the pavement with my feet in the gutter along with several other young kids. This photo was lost when we emigrated to Canada in 1953, and I wondered if anyone on the list has a copy, or possibly could give me direction as to where I could locate a copy. I'm pretty sure that each of the families had one. Someone suggested a while back that the Loughborough Echo may have published it, but the on-line archives for the Echo are pretty sparse and don't go back very far in time. This request is a bit of a long shot...................but who knows, it's worth a try?! cheers......Bob Marttila in Hamilton, Ontario ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to LEICESTERSHIRE-PLUS-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
