Ref details are: 1843, Q3 (sept), Registration District: Hinckley, Vol:15, page 109. Also, Tom's birth certificate should confirm his mother's maiden name. Regards, Mark

    1. Re: [LEI] PEAT'S YARD, HINCKLEY
    2. Ian, Peat's Yard was off the East side of Bond Street. Go to this website;- _http://www.hinckley.netfirms.com_ (http://www.hinckley.netfirms.com) Scroll down, and click on; "Maps of the town: 1782-1920s". - Select 1903, Map A. Bond street is in the centre of this map, and I'm fairly sure that Peat's yard was somewhere between the junctions with King Street and Baines' Lane. Regards, Mark

    3. Hello list I wonder if anyone has access to the MARKET BOSWORTH baptisms. I am looking for confirmation that Arthur Atkins GOADBY baptized Feb 26 1843 is correct. He is named in an LDS ancestral file but there isn’t a GRO reference for him in 1842 or 1843. His death is certified in 1847 which confirms the AF. His parents are Joseph and Mary GOADBY TIA Bruce Smith Virginia Beach No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. 3. Hi Joanna, Do you know whether the couple stayed in England ? It would not be unusual for a couple to emigrate after the marriage, to seek a better life overseas. I checked the Ellis Island database (http://www.ellisisland.org/) but they didn't turn up there. Might be worth checking some of the emigration record sources for other countries, unless you know from other evidence that they stayed in England. Good luck, Mike Gould -----Original Message----- From: leicestershire-plus-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:leicestershire-plus-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Joanna Watkins Sent: 25 January 2008 23:12 To: LEICESTERSHIRE-PLUS@rootsweb.com Subject: [LEI] Fw: John Wilton ADCOCK Artist 1863 - 1930 ----- Original Message ----- From: Joanna Watkins To: LECESTERSHIRE-PLUS@rootsweb.com Sent: Saturday, January 26, 2008 8:58 AM Subject: Re: John Wilton ADCOCK Artist 1863 - 1930 Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me locate John Wilton Adcock in the 1891 and 1901 census. 3. Looking for help to find information on a HENRY ADCOCK. What I need is someone with access to the marriage records. Hopefully from it we wiil know how old he is, his parents names and perhaps even an address. Any information that is on the certificate would be greatly appreciated. I know he married a SOPHIA BELLAMY in the first quarter of 1856 GRO Reference Mar 1856 Leicester District Volume 7a Page 248 There are no census records for Henry or Sophia as a couple that I can find and until I know more about HIM it is impossible to really look any further . They had a child, ELIZABETH SOPHIA ADCOCK born August of 1856 (I have her birth certificate) The marriage and birth took place in Leicester, Leicestershire (most likely St Margaret) I have all the census records for Elizabeth Sophia, their daughter. She was raised by her maternal grandparents John & Sophia Bellamy. I suspect the death of a Sophia Adcock in 1859 would account for this It is mainly Henry I am trying to get information on. Any help in this department would be greatly appreciated. I am trying the list before ordering their marriage certificate myself. If the information is worthwhile then I will most certainly order it. Regards, Judy in Newcastle, Ontario, Canada

    1. [LEI] RIMMINGTON, John or Thomas?
    2. Susan McIsaac
    3. I am looking for help. I have a birth for RIMMINGTON, John b 1839 to RUDKIN, Anne and RIMMINGTON, John. John (1839) appears with the family in the 1841 & 51 census then disappears for the 1861 & 1871 census. I have a marriage for RIMMINGTON, Thomas and HENSON, Anne in 1861, they are also in the census together. Thomas also disappears in the 1871 census. On the 1871 census, Ann and family of 5 children show up, no Thomas or John. On the 1881 census, Ann and family of 7 children show up with father John. His son Caleb has father "Thomas" on his birth certificate but states father is "John" on his marriage. His son Edward repeats the same thing. I am 99% sure that Thomas and John are the same person, but I have nothing to indicate where the name "Thomas" came from and where John or Thomas may have been in 1871. Iam open for any suggestions on how to prove this or how to find where he was in '71. Would I "assume" that I am correct and enter his name as "John Thomas" on my records or do I assume that "Thomas" was an alias name?
