Kathleen, As with most things, if you Google it, you will find it. Needless to say, it is on St. Saviours Road, Leicester. Does anyone have Burial Records for the following mentioned Parishes Kirby Bellars Melton Mowbray Thurmaston Birstall Frisby on the Wreake Hoby who could look for the possible burial of Mary PALIN after 1769 Mary Dickins married Robert PALIN in Thurmaston in April 1767. She was chrs in Birstall in 1762, possibly the eldest daughter of Samuel & Martha DICKINS. She gave birth to my 4x grandfather, John PA(Y)LING, sometime in 1769. I cannot find his chrs record and am going on the age given by the Rector when John was buried. I have a feeling that Mary PALIN died not long after John's birth as I cannot find any more children chrs to a Robert & Mary PALIN. Robert may have remarried possibly in the Melton Mowbray area ( there are records of PALINs in Frisby, Hoby and Kirby Bellars in Framland Hundred) So far as I know he was not from Thurmaston and may have returned to his original area. I have lost most of my information and correspondence on the Lewin family which I had put together over the past 20 yrs. So I am starting again. Anyone researching the LEWIN family of SYSTON. My ancestor was Elizabeth Lewin who married George Sheffield a miller of Syston. in 1679. Two of their daughters, Mary & Ann were mentioned as beneficiaries in the will of HUGH LEWIN who refers to them as COUSINS. So I am also tracing High Lewin in Hopes I can find his parents and an association with Elizabeth The will was kindly sent to me couresy of Joyce Trousdale & Tina Arrindell. They are trying to help I also have a Thomas Lewin as trustee to the estate of Matthew Sheffield - son of Elizabeth Lewin & George Sheffield Is this a cousin? or an uncle ? I know I was in touch with a gal in New Zealand who was researching Lewin in Syston. Hello - are you out there still ??????? I am also interested in anyone researching ADCOCK in SYSTON There is a note written by Elizabeth Castledine of Syston in 1850 referring to her grandfather, Benjamin Castledine A witness was George Sheffield I have an ancestor who at the time of her marriage to Matthew Sheffield was a widow She was married in 1751 at Kettleby. Was she born Castledine or was that her married (1st marriage) name ? Any help gratefully received Aliso
