Thanks, Anne Have you ever found one listed which *you* were looking for? Has anyone ever passed an unwanted one on to someone else? Hello Pat and Bill, Heather & Listers I've used www.bmd-cert-exch-site.ourwardfamily.com/ It is very easy to use, as I've placed several certificates on there. Hope this helps Anne Winfield in Leeds
Morning, Pat and Bill If there is no-one on the list who wants your certificates, google "BMD certificate exchange" and you will find several websites where you can post the details of your unwanted ones. I have no experience of this myself - maybe others, who have, can explain how easy (or not) and how successful (or not) the system is. This is just to let my fellow PALING/FOWKES researchers know that I have, at long last, found a record of the death of Guy FOWKES. He was born in Rothley in 1834 and died in Coventry, WAR, in June Q, 1925, at the grand old age of 91. I expect that his long history as a publican helped to preserve him into a good old age!! Guy married my gt gt aunt Eliza. Anne Paling SHEFFIELD, U.K.
David, I'm in Bateman. I occasionally think about using the WAGS resources & have a to do list that might get resolved there. This Jim is, so far, not directly related but RYLOTT is reasonably common in the south of Lincolnshire & there's about 60 RYLOTTS born in the late 1700's/mid 1800's so his parents could be from a line that I've not followed up (or is it down) on yet. John & Michael get my thanks for the info sent through a close second behind the Lincolnshire list - but you'll be please to learn that they came up with the identical references. As a result I Googled a bit more and found a little more info on the roll of honour site. The results are great as my main RYLOTT research is Lincolnshire based because they came form the Surfleet & Gosberton areas & Billingborough is not too far away, so there's a chance Jim was related to my lot. I gave you his date of birth to within a couple of months Births (Quarter ending) Sep 1897 Rylott Jim Bourn 7a 376 and that will be sufficient to order the certificate if you wish For your information, (source Soldiers who died in the Great War) he apparently did not die of his wounds nor was he killed in action. It is therefore probable that he died of one of those illnesses which were rife in France given the horrendous conditions in which the soldiers were existing.
