    3. Hi Sue Here is Charles birth from FreeBMD, Births Dec 1866 (>99%) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Todd Charles Aylesbury 3a475 In the 1871 census he is with his grandparents, William & Amelia Todd in Hardwick. Getting Charles' birth certificate would confirm or disprove your theory. Ann married Charles Woodcock in 1875 in Leicester, so all the children on the 1881 census are probably from his first marriage. Ann in 1871 is a servant in Ivinghoe, Bucks. If you want the pages for the 1871 census, for Ivinghoe & Hardwick, I can send them off list for you. 1. [LEI] Livens/Kemp/Davis Surname Interest
    2. Venetia
    3. After quite a few months of research and being off the list during that time, I have new names of interest and would love to hear from anyone who recognises these names on their family tree. Sarah Livens born 1822 married Robert Kemp born 1827 in 1855, Leicester. Children were Arthur born 1856 and Helen born 1859. Arthur married a Sarah Ellen. Children were Robert G born 1883, Edith born 1884, Alan born 1887. Helen married John H Davis who I believe had no children. I am particularly interested in the Livens line but still would love to hear from the Kemp side of the family. If any of these names are of interest to you, please contact me. 3. Hello Annette, I am *extremely* interested in your Joseph NORTON! My 3x and 4x gt-grandfathers, from nearby Derbyshire, were named Joseph NORTON, my 3x gg'f and one of his sons (my 2x gg'f) also being gardeners. The rest of the family were cordwainers / shoemakers for generations. The oldest brother of my 2x gg'f, also named Joseph NORTON (cordwainer), married in Loughborough in 1820 as a widower and has been difficult to locate thereafter. (He first possibly married Mary SOMERS in Tamworth in 1811). Moreover, Joseph NORTON (3x gg'f) had an older brother, John (b 1762) who married Martha BAILEY (of Barton in the Beans) in Market Bosworth in 1787. Because they were General Baptists, whose records haven't survived, I have no way of identifying their children, other than a daughter, Sarah, who married James SMITH, but I wouldn't mind betting that they would have had a son and/or grandsons, named Joseph. John NORTON died pre-1841, but his widow died in the home of daughter Sarah SMITH in St Margaret's, Leicester, in 1845. Wigston (coincidentally, my husband's birthplace) is near Leicester. If you buy the 1849 marriage certificate I'd love to know the name, address and occupation of Joseph's father, in the hope of finding a connection, but out of interest, nevertheless. Incidentally, I am expanding my NORTON website to include Leicestershire information - ie parish register, probate and marriage licence extrapolations. Many NORTONs in Leics originated in Stoney Stanton: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~blanchec/NortonPR10.htm Kind regards Blanche Charles (nee Norton) Wellington New Zealand NORTON Family History Unlimited http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~blanchec/indexdby.htm East Midlands General Baptist History http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~blanchec/EMidBaps.htm ------------------------------------------------------------------ Fee "feemanley" <feemanley@blueyonder.co.uk> wrote: Hello Annette I looked for this NORTON family in the1851 census and found Joseph (Josh), wife Sarah and daughter Alice living with parents in law William and Elizabeth MEADOWS in Leicester.
