Hello Everyone, It's Janette (Jan) Pfeifer here, nee GRUNDY from Australia. On reading through the emails lately I've seen COTTERILL queries. My maiden name is GRUNDY & I have GRUNDY information back to a John GRUNDY born c1709 who married 5.8.1740 in Fenny Drayton, Leics.to Elizabeth BALLARD born c1721. I'm stuck at this family & going by their ages on the marriage certificate I haven't been able to find where & when either of them were born...I can't find them in Leicestershire as yet. Morning David My friend who has the Cotterill connection is new to family history and does not know how to source material to add to her tree. I note that the Cotterill tree only goes back as far as William and Mary and I am keen to know why no one can move the tree back further. I cannot travel to Leicester Record Office myself so and I will advise my friend to contact the L.R.O and ask for research to be carried out on her behalf. It would be helpful to know if the P.R.s relevant to this tree have been destroyed or whether William and Mary have settled in this parish from an unknown parish, so I would be grateful to know if other sources have been consulted, i.e. settlement and removal papers, wills, bishop transcripts and marriage indexes relevant to Leicestershire etc., I have not been contacted by John Cotterill by the way. But have appreciated all the contacts that have been intouch.
