Hello to all you lovely LEICESTERSHIRE.com people out there who replied to my 'Russian' email query. I have had 36 replies and they are still coming. I have replied to 19 direct but now , as they are coming in fast & furious I thought I would ask if you would all accept my sincere thanks for getting back to you as a group instead of individually What I really want to know is why did 'big brother' intercept it and tell me it would not be released until they had checked it for ADMINISTRIVIA? I turned 80 on August 3rd and life is not treating me well. My only means of transport is a mobility scooter, a stair lift and enough walking sticks to make a forest Bye Kind regards Harold Thank you all sincerely Harold

Hi George I cannot help with the details but this looks like the death registration Deaths Sep 1877 PICKERING Charlotte 46 Burton 6b 201 Personally, unless there is a doubt over the persons identity or some other reason I do not buy every death cert, it simply is not viable financially, death certs in particular tell you so little I did a quick google using Stapenhill and Genuki (which is my first ploy with somewhere I do not know) It finds http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/DBY/Stapenhill/index.html On which I found http://www.wishful-thinking.org.uk/genuki/DBY/Stapenhill/MIs.html Which mentions a few PICKERINGs I notice but not yours (it does say some MIs not all) I also noticed there is a CD available of PRs for Stapenhill which may give the confirmation you need plus more if there is a family connection to Stapenhill, its only slightly more than one certificate Of course they may have died there and be buried elsewhere but maybe someone might be able to confirm that first? I also notice there is an OPC for Stapenhill perhaps they might help you, there are burials available on there up to 1862 but they may have access to later Best wishes Nivard Ovington, in Cornwall (UK) > Dear List, > > I am trying to track down the person who gave me the death details of > Charlotte PICKERING, born 1830, Shackerstone. Dear List, I am trying to track down the person who gave me the death details of Charlotte PICKERING, born 1830, Shackerstone. Father Abraham PICKERING, mother Mary ELLIOTT. I failed to make a note of the source at the time. The given death details were, 4 September 1877, Stapenhill, Derbys. What I am after is a scanned copy of the death certificate if possible, failing that I shall have to spend some of my hard earned money. Best Regards George Rainham, Kent.

That mail will be spam, pure and simple. By opening it the OP (whose mail I don't have) has probably sent a message back to the spammers which will tell them they've found a "live" address. Basic rule for spam is: if you didn't send a mail to the people in the first place, the mail is spam and should be deleted unopened and unread. So, if the OP didn't mail a Russian site, the mail has to be spam because he would have written in English and they would have replied in English.
If you can give some years (or estimated) - of the dates in Leicestershire, when adopted by MILLER in Alabama or Alberta or Alaska (not all non Americans are familiar with US postal designations) and the approximate year of migration PLUS mother's maiden and married name might produce good results for you. Peter Holmes Western Australia. Skype ; p.g.holmes [HOLMES (Witham on the Hill, Manthorpe, Spalding, Pinchbeck, Donington then Leicestershire)]. [DAVISON (Spalding, Donington, Ingoldmells, Skegness)]. [CRAGG (Lincolnshire, Leicestershire & Nottinghamshire)] [FREER (Leicestershire)]. [RYLOTT & WITHERINGTON (Anwick, N & S Kyme, N & S Rauceby, Surfleet, Gosberton Clough etc., Spalding)] [RYLOTT (Ontario Canada & some in New York & Florida USA)] Villages are in Lincolnshire unless stated.
