Hi a BIT OF A LONG SHOT BUT,-working with a Reiners I had a quick look at 1801 Norwegian census Rein sounds like rain I found a number of Reiner/Reins/Reiners there there being 7 in Sandherred 3 Reiner in Helland(near Stavanger) and another in the same prefecture at Heilmeland Who is posted as head of the houshold's sister's son the boy being ten but the householder capt in the guards(Norwegian) is 61 years old. 1. [LEI] Simultaneous RHINES baptisms
    2. Malcolm Rains
    3. A lot of people have responded to my plea for help in finding the birth, marriage and death record of my ancestor Benjamin RHINES but so far there has been nothing concrete. I would like to add this information, from the photocopied parish register.: On 28 July 1793 Benjamin RHINES & his wife Elizabeth had their son, (Benjamin, born 13 Feb. 1793), baptised by Thomas Toller in Kettering. On the same day, 28 July 1793, Thomas RHINES and his wife Mary had their son (Joseph, born 14 June 1793) baptised by Thomas Toller in Kettering. Because of these simultaneous baptisms I am surmising that Benjamin RHINES and Thomas RHINES are brothers, perhaps born 10 years apart. The IGI record that young Benjamin is the son of Thomas RAYNES/RHINES & Mary BILTON is incorrect. (A good lesson to always check the source material). This baptism record is the only documentation that I have been able to find of the elder Benjamin RHINES. It is like he never existed. Where was he born? Where was he married? Where did he die? I am sure that the spelling of his last name went through many variations but I have always drawn a blank. Any insights/suggestions gratefully received. Malcolm

    3. We are celebrating our 35th Anniversary this week, the 35th anniversary of the founding of the United Reformed Church. So are you sure that Benjamin RAINES was baptised at a church ofthat denomination in Kettering, Northamptonshire? Where did you get his Baptismal Record from? 3. Hi Terry, An interesting conjecture.......I suppose that the only way that could be confirmed would be through DNA testing. My intuition says that Benjamin & Elizabeth must have married somewhere in England. I just need to find where. 2. Peter HOLMES
    3. G'day from down under, Courtesy of Mick F., I've received a photo of the headstone. This John HOLMES is buried at Barkby church just out of Leicester (Leicestershire, England) and from the MI he died as above aged 15 so that would make his d of b ca. 1847. Some of my HOLMES ancestors moved from Lincolnshire to the adjacent village of Queniborough but as I understand it, not until close to +/-1900. The questions I have are who were John's parents (to help me determine if he's directly one of ours) and although this apparently is the only HOLMES headstone were any other HOLMES' buried in Barkby? If so - who/when? Does anyone on the list have the appropriate information available to check and if so, would they be kind enough to do so for this wild colonial boy? 1. Re: [LEI] Family Tree Maker

    3. I have found the solution. The “Record Change” fact in Family Tree Maker turns out to be a product of importing any GEDCOM file into the program. I was able to erase every one of them by exporting the file as a GEDCOM file, deleting the FTW file and then importing back the same GEDCOM file by selecting which facts to import. By selecting a “blank” option against the “Record Change” leaves that fact blank, so when the file is imported, all those old “Record Change” facts are gone. I’ apologize to those who don’t use FTM but for those who do, Thanks to Cheryl and Carolyn for their support.
