Hi Martin Without the birth cert or finding a possible baptism there is little way of establishing the parents of William I would suspect that William is either a child of a relative who could not look after him or a previous child of Elizabeth Could this indicate the connection? Marriages Sep 1847 Morgan Elizabeth Hereford 26 227 THOMAS Joseph Hereford 26 227 However the birth entry you give seems to be for a registration in Dudley not Madley, is that correct? Hi Listers, I have a William Morgan aged 5, born in Madley, Hereford and living in Withington, Hereford in the 1851 Census. Joseph Thomas 60 is the head, Elizabeth Thomas 36 is his wife and there is a daughter, Mary Ann age 1. Ancestry has transcribed William's relationship as a Child St. Nurse, although I believe it reads Child at Nurse. In either way, what does this mean? I have found his birth on FreeBMD in second Qr. 1846 at Madley vol.XV111, p.372 but no way of finding out the mother. Could this be a simple private adoption or might there be a closer relation somewhere? JosephThomas was with AnnieThomas(not Jenny as per Ancestry) age 65 in 1841 census, but the relationsip is not transparent. Any suggestions welcomed. I also have a marriage cert. of Edward Taylor to Veronica Morgan on 1st Nov 1958 in Liverpool--going free if anyone is interested. Tks/regards Martin

Leics Uni is no longer supporting the site or updating it. However, www.familyrelatives.com is planning on getting a trade directory database. It may be the Leics Uni one.
