Hi Listers, I have a William Morgan aged 5, born in Madley, Hereford and living in Withington, Hereford in the 1851 Census. Joseph Thomas 60 is the head, Elizabeth Thomas 36 is his wife and there is a daughter, Mary Ann age 1. Ancestry has transcribed William's relationship as a Child St. Nurse, although I believe it reads Child at Nurse. In either way, what does this mean? I have found his birth on FreeBMD in second Qr. 1846 at Madley vol.XV111, p.372 but no way of finding out the mother. Could this be a simple private adoption or might there be a closer relation somewhere? JosephThomas was with AnnieThomas(not Jenny as per Ancestry) age 65 in 1841 census, but the relationsip is not transparent. Any suggestions welcomed.
