Anyone researching the LEMMONS in Bedford Co. and/or Marshall Co., TN during 1810s to 1850s? I am seeking information on the family of William LEMMONS who died in the Battle of New Orleans in 1814, leaving widow Sarah and at least two sons, James and Alvin (or Alvis). He probably has an older son, William Jr., from a previous marriage. I believe this family to be residing in Bedford Co. when William (Sr.) died and that the widow and heirs continued to live in this county. The area where they lived is probably now Marshall Co. Deed index and records show several LEMMONS during that time period and I would like to identify them: Jesse, John, Jacob, W. A. (William A. -- likely William Jr.), Arthur L., James B. (son of William Sr.), Asa, Isaiah and Benjamin. John Lemmons' wife was identified as Anna Shinault through the deeds. Any assistance appreciated. Nova Lemons lemstar@juno.com
