    3. My Lehman line was named Layman until my grandfather wrote a little booklet on the family history. When he did this, he changed to names of all my ancestors to Lehman. However, the first one, our progenitor, may have spelled it Lehemann. my dad: Laurence Lincoln Lehman, was born in Gathersburg, Md. on Aug 5, 1902. He married Ivy Geraldine Matilda Dent, of Nanjamoy, Md. He died: Aug. 4, 1989 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He was a teacher. (nine children) Grandfather: Samuel Augustus Lehman, born Mar.3, 1862, Frederick Co., Md. A Spanish-American war vet, he was a teacher (twelve children) married Emma Adele Hipkins, and he died May28,1945. He was bound out at age 5 to a farmer who recognized his intelligence and sent him to school. GGF: Jacob Lehman, b. PA, Mar 23, 1825. A blacksmith, he fathered 10 children by his second marriage to Mary Jane Perkins Dixon, and he died Aug 13, 1912. Children by wife number l, Fannie Shaw, or by Mrs Dixon and Wm. H. Dixon unknown. gggf:Henry Lehman b.Maryland, Apr.1, 1794. A farmer. lived in Adams Co. Pa. married Lydia Flohr,(dtr. of Rachel Smith and Leonard Flohr) he died Feb.5, 1856. There were 4 sons, 9 dtrs, and two orphans: Mary Swigert and Micheal Morningstar in the home. ggggfJacob Lehman bn.Dauphin Co. Pa, Mar 3, 1764. A farmer, millwright and mechanic he married ?? and fathered 9 children. He died May 4, 1843. Wife died before 1833, is buried near Little Hunting Creek, Fred. Co. Md. Jacob is buried Utica Mills Cem, Utica Mills, Md. gggggf Jacob Lehman b. 1725? lived in Bethel, Pa, Jonestown, Pa. Dauphin Co. in 1790, probably the year ahe died. above person could be same as Philip Jacob Lehman, b.? married 18Apr 1741 to Anna Maria "Barbara" Zimmerman. if this is true, and we believe it is, his father was Nicklaus Lehemann from Niederhorbach. I have info on Flohr, sm. amt on Hipkins. Need to know if Fannie Shaw and Jacob had children, or if MJPerkins Dixon and Wm Dixon had children. Any help will be appreciated.
