Well, with all the activity that has flared up on this list lately I thought I'd try posting my info again. I am looking for any information on George Washington Lemons b. 1831 in Kentucky. He married Elizabeth Brown February 16, 1854 in Franklin County, Missouri. They had three sons that lived: 1. Winfield Scott Lemons b: January 01, 1855 in Franklin County, Missouri d: December 29, 1925 in Vernon, Texas 2. Robert J. Lemons b: December 13, 1858 in Missouri d: January 28, 1947 in Vernon, Texas 3. Andrew Thomas Lemons b: May 08, 1861 in Pulaski County, Missouri d: January 15, 1928 in Lubbock, Texas. Family tradition says the George was killed by Missouri border raiders shortly after his discharge from the Union Army in 1863 - 1864. His wife did remarry to a William Lemons, apparently George's cousin, and she is listed on the 1890 Widows and Veterans census for Cooke County, Texas (William was still alive, as he is listed too). The strange thing is that I can find no military records for George. Sound remotely familiar to anyone? Chuck Good
