Would like to hear from anyone working on the LEMMONS / LEMONS / LEMING folks of Polk Co., AR. I descend from James B. LEMMONS, born c1809 in TN, who came to Montgomery Co. c1847-48 with his wife and their children. I believe him to be brother of Alvin / Alvis William LEMMONS who came at the same time from TN. Both are believed to be sons of William LEMMONS and Sarah COX. William died in the Battle of New Orleans in 1814 and Sarah applied for pension while living in Polk Co. Would like more information on these persons. One source shows that the LEMINGS are also related to this family and that LEMING was an original spelling. There were LEMINGS in Polk Co., AR.
