The message below was sent to me by a friend, and I've checked it out with an official in my computer users' group, who assures me it's a real threat, so take action as you deem fit: Lynn White I am writing to you to inform you of a very important matter currently under review by the FCC. Your local telephone company has filed a proposal with the FCC to impose per minute charges for your internet service. They contend that your usage has of will hinder the operation of the telephone network. It is my belief that internet usage will diminish if users were required to pay additional per minute charges. The FCC has created an e-mail box for your comments at isp@fcc.gov. RESPONSES MUST BE RECEIVED BY FEB 13,1998. Please send them your comments and your thoughts on this matter. Every phone company is in on this one, and they are trying to sneak this one by. Please also send the e-mail address to everyone you can think of. I don't know about you, but although I can understand the phone usage thing, I would really hate to see this happen. Please let's put a stop to this not only for the now, but also for future purposes. The e-mail address again is: isp@fcc.gov Please respond.
