Greetings Fellow Lehman Listers, I am new to the list, and thought I'd say hi! I'm Peter Lehman, and I currently live in Chicago. My branch of the Lehmans resided primarily in Wisconsin & Michigan, which brings me to my question. circa 1880/81 Martin Lehman (b. 10/18557), wife Anna Gruba (b. 07/1857), and son Bernard (b. 12/1879) traveled from West Prussia to New York, via Hamburg. Hamburg passenger lists show the name Lehmann, while in New York it only has one N. My grandfather recalled that they came from an area near Dansk (he probably meant Gdansk) and were married in Grauerstark (????). Martin had a brother, Michael, also born in West Prussia. All of them eventually settled in Wisconsin. If any of this sound familiar to anyone on the list, I would love to talk to you. This has been a dead end for me for some time.
