Can anyone help? Anna Lemmon(s)married Louis Killion(son of Captain M. A. and Gillia Ann Bagwell Killion) in Perry county, IL on 1 January 1891. I've only found one child from this marriage, so far. A Beulah Maude Killion, b. abt. 1899. Louis Killion died bef. March of 1900. In March of 1900 the following is found in Perry county, IL courthouse documents: Guardianship of Beulah was granted to James W. Lemmon in the county of Perry, IL on 5 March 1900. Witnessed by Marion Teague, J. A. Kieth and J. W. Lemmon. The child's mother took possession of Beulah two years later. John King, adm. of Captain M. A. Killion's estate, gave the child her portion of her father's inheritance. I'm hoping to make another trip to the Perry county, IL courthouse soon, but would like to speak to anyone who might be researching this family. Thanks, Susan http://members.aol.com/SuzanCook/SusanCook-homepage.index.html

I am looking for the parents of my Great Grandfather George LEMON, born 1829 in Lexington, Fayette, KY. Sometime before 1856 he moved to Chillicothe, Ross, Ohio. He married Sarah Elizabeth Hill, in 1856. Looking for any possible parents combination from Fayette, Jessamine, or Scott County Kentucky which could be George's Parents. Thanks in advance, Jack Lemon
Hi all! Where's everybody? Here's something that'll get the list active again. After getting my share of leads via the internet I want to try to help someone else now too. I recently purchased the FTM superbundle of world family trees, Vol 3-7. Any Lemons out there need a look up? Keep in mind I might be a slow resonse, but I will! Michele LMicheleS@msn.com
Hi, All, Was this LEMMONS actually a LEVENS, transcribed incorrectly, misheard, or perhaps a name from a faulty memory ? I would welcome any comments or information that would support one side or the other. In researching LEMMON(S) and MARSH in north central Kentucky I have run into several references to the marriage of Patience LEMMONS to William MARSH. In Bourbon County, KY Wills, Bk A, p. 169, dated 24 Dec. 1793, is the will of Ann LEVENS. She names a daughter, Patience MASH (a var. of MARSH). William and Patience MARSH are said to have come from Baltimore Co., MD. There was a LEMMON family living there. Robert Barnes' <Baltimore County Families> speculates that Patience could be the daughter of this family. I have not yet seen evidence that the LEMMON family in Baltimore Co., MD had a daughter Patience. Also, I do not know what original document the name "Patience LEMMONS" was taken from and so I cannot go back and check. I do find a LEVENS/LEVINS family in Baltimore Co. in the 1740's. Thomas LEVENS and wife Ann transfered land there in 1746 and Thomas LEVENS is mentioned with land in Balt. Co. again in 1754. Of course the name Ann LEVENS is the name on the Bourbon Co. will on the enclosed with the daughter, Patience MASH. <Marylanders to Kentucky>, by Henry C. Peden, Jr.: p. 108 "Prior to 1797 Nicholas NAYLOR was the guardian of the children of Thomas LEVENS of Washington Co., PA. Ann LEVENS was the niece of Thomas SELBY, and Mary SELBY, wife of Nicholas NAYLOR, has a brother Thomas SELBY. In Green County in 1797, Thomas and Rebecca SELBY granted power of attorney to Richard LEVENS of Bullitt Co., KY to represent their interests in the estate of Thomas LEVENS of Washington Co., PA." Several of the names here mirror the names in the will of Ann LEVENS: dau. Rebecca SELVY, son Richard LEVENS, son Nicholas LEVENS. Fred Westcott fredwes@planet.net
My genealogy starting with my father Guy LeRoy Lemmon, his father was Washington Lemmon, his father was Oliver Perry Lemmon, Hi father was another Washington Lemmon, his father was James Lemmon and his father was Robert Lemmon. Robert Lemmon I think came from Ireland and arrived here about 1750. I only have family stories and no proveable facts. I sure would like to know more about him. His wife was Eleanor Davis. James Lemmon was in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. He died in Lancaster Texas and is burried there. I have seen his grave. I think that he was born in Pennslyvania or Maryland. I think he was born in April 1763. I need more information about James. I know that his first wife was Sarah Carr and that she died in Indiana. James married Amy Rawlins and had a second family and most of them moved to Texas. Washington became a Mormon and moved from Quincy Illinois and ended up in Salt Lake City Utah. The rest of the family stayed in Utah and Idaho. I have just subscribed to this group and am looking forward to meeting some relatives and getting some genealogy done. Does any one keep an archive of past messages? It would be interesting to browse through them. Bill Lemmon in Albuquerque, NM
How about helping this lady? This query is on my query page and although I have a Lemon connection there as well as numerous books about the county, I can't help her. Anyone else have info about these people? I have a copy of the will she is referring to and it is available from the archives of KYGenWeb under Scott Co., KY - It is too early to help her, and does not mention the people she is looking for. There are several Lemon families in this area of KY, supposedly one is Irish and one is German, although the Germans tended to live in Harrison Co. it is difficult to get them all sorted out. I am really stuck on this family and hope you or someone else could help me get started again. The earliest ancestor is Robert Mathais Lemons. The earlliest record is a marriage record where he, or Mathais Robert Lemons married Margaret Ellen Bealer on 6 Aug 1867 in Jefferson Co. MO. Shortly after after the marriage theremoved on to Cabool MO where several of their children were born. ] Around 1880 the family moved to Colorado. Children of Robert and Margaret were: Leander B., Geneva, James Marian, Jesse Franklin, Carolyn, Robert Emmet, Charles Elbert, Olive, Alda and Margaret. The family moved back to Cabool, MO where Robert died 2 Jul 1911. After his death, Margaret & some of the family moved back to CO where she died 24 Nov 1932. Please, can anyone provide a clue, no matter how small? I would certainly like to get a little farther back! By the way, according to census records and death certificate, Robert was born in KY. No confirmation as yet. TIA Audrey

Hi! The LEHMAN Family mailing list is back up and running - thanks to the great folks at rootsweb! You can post messages to this whenever you are ready. If you've received this message, you are already subscribed to the list and there is *not* a need to subscribe. The list of subscribers at time the maiser server went down was transfered over to the new list on rootsweb. Thanks for your patience. This has been difficult for all of us. Below is a copy of the welcom message sent when people are subscribed to the list. This is for your records so you will have a copy of how to unsub in the future or how to get the digest. Regards, Barry Best
Don't show this as having gone through, so I'm trying again. Hi, List - Anybody out there researching LEMAN / LEEMAN / LEMON / LEMMON / LEMMAN / LEAMAN / LEAMON / LEMOND in Massachusetts? Have compiled a lot of data from vital records, Boston city directories, and early newspapers and will do information swaps. Especially looking for my own family of LEMAN who were in Andover, Cambridge, Dorchester and Boston in the 1850's. My grandfather, Philip b. in Boston in 1870 was cut off from his family by his widowed mother. If you know of or descend any of the following people, please contact me. Looking for: Frank Yeaton LEMAN who was born in Boston in the late 1800's, or his sister, Ethel M. LEMAN. Also looking for descendants of William E. LEMAN who is buried in Cedar Grove cemetery. Looking for any descendants of George Augustus LEMAN of Dorchester and Boston, b. 1861, he had at least one infant son. Looking for info about Jennie E. LEMAN b. 1846/47. Looking for descendants of John M. PORTER and his wife, Abbie N. LEMAN. Also, is there anybody out there descended from Ebenezer LEMAN, Jr. and his wife, Mary A. KIMBALL?? Also looking for children of Aaron Wallace LEMAN and Mary SHEPARD. Looking for descendants of Augustus F. LEMAN b. NY abt 1812, but lived in Andover, MA and died in Watertown, MA-- very stong circumstantial proofs about this family, which has a BARNARD - ELLENWOOD connection. Some of you had e-mailed me a long time ago before most my stuff was in the computer, and then I had a computer crash and a health crash and was not able to do much. Please e-mail me again, as I have lots of new stuff that my mother did the fieldwork for. Janet
