I am searching for information concerning my LEHMANN Family who immigrated from Schirrhein, Alsace, France about 1828 to Canton, Stark Co., OH. It was said that 6 brothers came to the U.S.A. from Alsace, but this has not been proven. I can only validate immigrant brothers being Michel, Nicolas, & Joseph LEHMANN. Anyone who can help or have connections to this family are asked to send any data, which will be greatly appreciated. Also, I have been unable to determine where in France they would have boarded for their trip to the U.S.A. I have not found the ship they would have traveled upon, nor their place of disembarkment. My immigrant ancestor was Michel LEHMANN, (Jr.) b 1789/1790, married Madaleine BIAM b 1790/1791. They immigrated from Alsace to Canton, Stark Co., OH about 1828 and finally to Ft. Loramie, Shelby Co., OH. Michel was s/o Michel (Sr.) & Catherine (SCHOTT) LEHMANN, who appear to have remained in Alsace. Michel immigrated with his wife and 5 children. Nicolas LEHMANN, brother of Michel (Jr.), married Marie Anne BIAM, were also immigrants to Canton, Stark Co., OH about 1828 with 3 children. Joseph LEHMANN married Susanne HALTER and is believed to have accompanied his brothers Michel (Jr.) & Nicholas to Stark Co., OH. He came with 3 children. Barbe LEHMANN, a sister, married Joseph PFEFFERKORN. It is not known whether she remained in France or came with her brothers to OH. Another sister or relative may have been Mary Magdalena LEHMANN, whose death record is found in church records of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Ft. Loramie, Shelby Co., OH. She was the wife of Ignatius ZIRCHER, who may be related to Nicholas ZIRCHER who immigrated to the U.S.A. during the same time period as the LEHMANN brothers. Michel and his family and Mary Magdalena (LEHMANN) ZIRCHER are the only ones found in Shelby Co., OH. What became of the other brothers and their families? Many descendants changed the LEHMANN spelling to LEHMAN. This family appear to have been Roman Catholic in belief. Believed Children of Michel (Sr.) & Catherine (SCHOTT) LEHMANN Exact birth order is unknown. 1. Michel LEHMANN (Jr.) 2. Nicolas LEHMANN 3. Joseph LEHMANN 4. Barbe LEHMANN 5. Mary Magdelena LEHMANN

Hi, Searching for the parents of Gustav Lehmann, thought to be born about 1830 in Brandenburg, Germany. The children of Gustav Lehmann and Maria Josefa Henn were: Carl Frederich Lehmann, Henriius Theodor Lehmann, Walburga Lehmann, Gustav J. Lehmann, Carolina Lehmann, Emile Randolph Lehmann and Frances Henrietta Lehmann. Carl, Henriius, Carolina, Emile and Frances were born in New Orleans. Greetings Fellow Lehman Listers, I am new to the list, and thought I'd say hi! I'm Peter Lehman, and I currently live in Chicago. My branch of the Lehmans resided primarily in Wisconsin & Michigan, which brings me to my question. circa 1880/81 Martin Lehman (b. 10/18557), wife Anna Gruba (b. 07/1857), and son Bernard (b. 12/1879) traveled from West Prussia to New York, via Hamburg. Hamburg passenger lists show the name Lehmann, while in New York it only has one N. My grandfather recalled that they came from an area near Dansk (he probably meant Gdansk) and were married in Grauerstark (????). Martin had a brother, Michael, also born in West Prussia. All of them eventually settled in Wisconsin. If any of this sound familiar to anyone on the list, I would love to talk to you. This has been a dead end for me for some time. Any help regarding them, or their ancestors would be greatly appreciated. Peter J. Lehman LehmanP@aol.com

I am trying to find information on the Lemen families that lived in Nelson Co. Kentucky between 1750-1820. At that point apparently most of those families picked up and moved to Indiana. I have a Robert Lemen married to Isabella, a son Robert, Samuel and daughters Isabella married to a Jonathan Cox, Lucy married to a Jacob Newland. In this same community I have a John Lemen married to a Mary "Polly" Cox. In many stories and articles I have read it states that they lived in this area among many other Lemen families. I am also looking for information on an Eli Lemen married to NancyAsherst he was supposed to have been born in Louisiana along with a Elisha F. Lemen and others. Please, help if you can. Thank you , Meryl R. Lemen Jr.
