Hi fellow rooters, I'm Chuck Lemmon and I'm looking for information on my ggrandfather Phillip LEMMON, probably born in KY but known to be in Wyandotte Co., KS in 1886 when my grandfather, Charles Elmer, was born. My ggrandmother was Julia Belle REAMS, probably born in KY. Phillip and Julia Belle separated when Grand Dad was 5 or 6 and she and the children (an older sister, Dove) went to Billings, MT where she married a man named Chilcott. Phillip was not heard from again to my knowledge, but family legend says he might have gone to OK. That would be about 1891. Any information on this family would be appreciated. Chuck crlemmon@kingsnet.com
Would like to hear from anyone working on the LEMMONS (and other spellings) in Gibson Co., TN. Trying to find or prove the parents and siblings of my James B. LEMMONS who was born c1809 in TN. The earliest record I could find on him was the 1836 Gibson Co., TN record in which he was appointed as a sheriff. He was married by 1838 to Mary E. CABLER. By 1848 the family had migrated to Montgomery Co., AR then to Polk Co., AR where James died in 1860s. Was James' father William LEMMONS who died in 1860s, leaving wife Jane and children, including a Joel G. LEMMONS. Joel was the bondsman to the marriage of Mary CABLER's brother Nicholas CABLER in Gibson Co. William LEMMONS' will did not name a James (who was in AR by then). Would appreciate any assistance. Nova A. Lemons lemstar@juno.com
Searching for info on John Frederick LEHMAN b ? ?and daughter Katie and David LEHMAN b ?. All have southern roots out of VA/NC/SC. If you would like to share info, send to Griway@aol.com. Thanks.
The problem with the name is , there are all variations, because people kept changing spellings-Lehman, Lemen, Lemon, Lemmon, and adding s, or d, to the end. I have been lucky in finding my Lemmon's, with some changing to Lemon. If you have any names back to 1700, send me some & I will see if i can match. Good Luck. Ken Lemmon Lemken@aol.com
