    1. Eleanor Mary Winger
    2. Darryl Winger
    3. She was born 7/12/1850 in Lithia, Botetourt Va. I know she married a Lemon, I don't have a name or time of marriage. I do have that by 1914 she most likely has passed away. She has a Daughter-in-law named Alfaretta Lemon. Alfaretta Lemon is 60 years old in 1930 when listed without a husband in Eleanor's younger brother's will. I have reason to believe that Eleanor and her husband may have lived in Rockbridge Co VA (might be just some of their children that lived in Rockbridge). Any help would be greatly appeciated. Thank you. Darryl Winger

    1. Peter Leman's Deed
    2. Lee J. Stoltzfus
    3. Hello Lehman Researchers, Greetings from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. I am writing here to the Lehman list to try to locate descendants or relatives of Peter Leman, who lived in Manheim, PA in the mid 1700s. I have obtained a wonderful land deed for a property sold to Peter Leman from Henry William Stiegel. Leman was a Mennonite minister, who purchased this lot #109 on the square in Manheim. It seems to me, that a item of this type, should be offered for purchase to Leman historians before it is spirited away by an anonymous collector or dealer. Henry William Stiegel was the founder of Manheim, and was a noted American ironmaster and glassmaker. A photograph of this deed, with additional information is here: http://www.yourantiques.com/leman.html In addition to the the Peter Leman and Stiegel signatures, this Leman deed has signatures of Francis Hopkinson (signer of the Declaration of Independence), Edward Shippen, and other signatures. Feel free to contact me with any questions. It would be super if someone could provide this Leman deed with a good Lehman home. Best regards, Lee J. Stoltzfus Your Family Heirlooms Lititz, PA lees@redrose.net (717) 627-7207

    2. BarbPretz
    3. I am researching the LEMMON family in NC, VA, TN, IN, IL and WI. My earliest known LEMMON ancestor was Peter LEMMON, born circa 1751. He married Mary (Polly) BOWLES. Their son, John LEMMON was born 12 June 1780 in Orange County, NC. Peter lived for a time in Botetourt County, VA. The family eventually moved to Sumner County, TN. John LEMMON married Priscilla ABBOTT 3 Sept 1804 and they had a son, William Berry LEMMON 28 May 1805 in Gallatin, Sumner County, TN. William Berry LEMMON married Mary (Polly) STALUP 24 Feb 1826 and had a son William Berry LEMMON, Jr. 27 Aug 1840 in Greene County, IN. The family later moved to Crawford County, IL. More recently, I'm researching the family of my great-grandfather, Newton Everett LEMMON. He was born on 28 March 1870 in Spring Lake, Pierce County, Wisconsin to William Berry LEMMON, Jr. and Sarah Jane PURCELL. He had a brother Millard Clarence LEMMON who was born in 1867 in Illinois. His father William Berry Lemmon, Jr. died February 3, 1873 and his mother Sarah Jane died 29 April 1884. If you have any information, please send e-mail to BarbPretz@aol.com. Thanks for your help! Barb
