    3. I was gong thru some of my English relatives and came across a few Lemons in the Baptism records of Bishops Castle. I have no idea where they go to or if they are related to anyone here, but here they are. Eleanor Charlotte Lemon baptized Nov 24, 1878 by William Rowland Vicar Lillian Edith Lemon baptized Mar 1, 1880 by William Rowland Vicar Dora Annie Lemon baptized Mar 24, 1872 by William Rowland Vicar daughter of Henry Morris (Doctor of Medicine) and Mary Ann Lemon. Katie Elizabeth Lemon baptized May 4, 1873 by William Rowland Vicar daughter of Henry Morris (Doctor of Medicine) and Mary Ann Lemon. Frederick Morris Lemon baptized Jan 6, 1875 by William Rowland Vicar daughter of Henry Morris (Doctor of Medicine) and Mary Ann Lemon. Charles Frederick Lemon baptized Sept 12, 1869 by William Rowland Vicar daughter of Henry Morris (Doctor of Medicine) and Mary Ann Lemon. I forgot to write down the parents for the first two. I hadn't planned on doing any Lemons work there, just caught my eye. Hope this helps someone. I'm sure the good Doctor would be famous enough to track down if anyone had some family interest in them. I don't have any more on these people so please don't ask. The LDS film I got them on is 1657518. Good luck. Fred

We are unsure as to the spelling because or family name is now Lemmons and Lemons (Kentucky) depending on the son of Noel Dickenson Lemmons (Lemons). Looking for any info or anyone else researching this line. Craig & LeAnn Lemmons

    1. Lemons, Missouri and Kentucky
    2. Hi, I was wondering if anyone out there had an info. on a George Washington Lemons, b. 1831 in Kentucky, m. Elizabeth B. Brown on Feb. 16, 1854 in Franklin Co. Misssouri. They had the following children: Winfield Scott Lemons, 1/1/1855 Robert J. Lemons, 12/13/1858 Andrew Thomas Lemons, 5/8/1861 Family "legend" has it that George was killed abt. 1864 in Missouri fighting for the Union Army, but I have been unable to locate a pension or military file to confimr this. Whatever the case, Elizabeth married his 1st cousin William D. Lemons in Missouri on 12/13/1865 and the family shortly thereafter moved to Cooke County, Texas. Any leads? 2. Below are two LEEMAN/LEEMON families that I believe are related but I can not for certainty verify this information. can anyone help? Debbie Henderson Descendants of William Leeman Generation No. 1 1. WILLIAM LEEMAN was born Abt. 1765 in NC, and died July 21, 1837 in Madison Co, AL1. He married (1) AMEY MERRITT Abt. 1787 in NC. 2. Janet & Rich Hall
    3. My mother and I are currently working on this family in all of Massachusetts. We are researching them in the Mass. State Archives Vital Records division at this time. Later we will be searching the State House records and the local histories at the NEHGS. My great-great grandparents, John and Martha B. (GROSS) LEMAN are buried in Jamaica Plain, Boston, MA, and their son, Benjamin B. LEMAN was lost at sea. This family was one of shipbuilders. We are currently researching the LEMAN (LEMMON family in 1790 census) family in Boston, and its branches into Dorchester, Andover, Chelsea, and several other towns, and all these LEMANs and LEMONs and LEMMONS are using all the same given names over and over again -- John, Ebenezer (and variations), Mary, Catherine, Caroline, Charles, Henry, Francis, Joseph, variations of Elizabeth, to name the most common. If you think that you may belong to our family and we may find your forebear in our Archives search, please write to me. Janet Hall, kvjrhall@kvvi.net

    3. Help. I am looking for information about my g-g-grandfather Phillip Lehman. Phillip was born in Ohio in 1856 and was living in Ashland Kentucky by the 1860 US census. He was the son of Simon Lehman, b. 1810 Kniebis, Baden, Germany, and Caroline Schwendeman, b. 1825? Baden, Germany. Phillip married Rebecca Evelyn Smith, b. Ohio, and had one daughter, Flora, and two sons, Phillip, b. 1884, and Frank, b. 1887. My problem is that I don't know what happened to Phillip (the elder). By the early 1890s, Rebecca married again. So, Phillip must have died between 1887 and 1892 or 1893 when Rebecca was re-married to a Dennis Egan. Is anyone researching this Lehman line? If so, let me know. Thanks, David Layman

    1. Lemmond(s) in GA, AL, TX, OK, CA
    2. Bill & Jan Breedlove
    3. I am a new subscriber to the "Lehman" list, and would like to know if anyone is researching LEMMOND. The earliest LEMMOND I have been able to prove in my line was Robert Lee LEMMOND, b. Morgan Co., GA in 1804 (parents unknown). Just before the CW Robert Lee and his wife, Elizabeth Tomlin, moved to Randolph Co. AL. The father and all three sons fought in the Confederate Army. Then his sons--William Allen, John Lamar and Jesse Robert all traveled west from AL beginning sometime after the CW. They settled finally in Young, Wood, Upshur and Delta counties in TX between 1883 and 1901. Would be interested in hearing if anyone suspects they might descend from this line. Sisters who married and remained in AL were Almedia, who m. John O. Traylor, and Susan Francis who married a Whitley.

    2. I didn't see this come thru so decided to send it again. >From an interview of 1850 era - Scott County, KY - presumably Draper or Shane interview: ----------------- "When Sam Spence was killed, there was an eclipse of the moon that evening. Old Uncle Wm Wilson and wife were in Georgetown and were coming home, and noticed the eclipse. I also noticed it. "Andrew and John the only sons of Sam'l Spence – both married daughters of old Robert Lemon, and moved to MO. Lemon moved there. "Don't know and didn't know any other Spence than Sam Spence." --------------------------------------------------------- Editorial comment by Jo Thiessen: Robt. 1. John LEMON of Westmoreland Co., PA
    2. Sometime ago a very nice lady on this list sent me some abstracted information on John LEMON of Westmoreland Co., PA and I subsequently got a copy of his widow's declaration and Bible entries. The message at that time indicated that some people thought this John Lemon had a first marriage to Elizabeth (?)... In the "DAR Patriot Index, Part II," there is an entry for John Lemon who maried Elizabeth Michy, and it says he died "8-15-1812" in PA. The John Lemon I am tracking died July 2 or 4, 1820 in Scott Co., KY. I believe there were at least 2 John Lemon/Lemmon men of approximately the same age in Westmoreland Co. The will of William Lamond (Old Book B, dated Oct 30, 1769) lists his wife as Frances and children as: Elizabeth; William, Jr.; Frances; John (who someone says is the one who married Elizabeth Mickey); Mary, James and Sarah. My John had a brother named Robert, b. 10-6-1752 Ireland, so this William cannot be his father. "John Lemmon and Wife Elizabeth Mickey" by Lawrence Clifton Lemmon says there were several branches of the Lemon/Lemmon family in the area with 2 of them using the spelling LEMON. As my John spelled his name with one "M" I would like to find out more about the "One M Lemmons" in Westmoreland Co. I also want to establish this John Lemon as a separate patriot in the DAR patriot files - not to be confused with John, husband of Elizabeth Michy/Mickey. I can do this on the basis of his widow's declaration, but would like other information from Westmoreland Co. to substantiate the Rev. War Unit's name and find out whether John and Robert imigrated with their father, alone, or with other family members. Any discussion, and/or help separating and documenting these Lemon/Lemmon men would be gratefully accepted. Jo Thiessen jogt@aol.com
