Hi Is there any way of identifying people by dates? I explain: I have been doing a great deal of research in France and have entered much of the information I've found. I have since found out that, in the latter 19th century, there were comments placed in the margins of the original act of birth that would include mariage and death. I did not realize this at the time of entry and did nothing about it. Is there an easy way for me to go back to these dates and include this extra information? Thanks!

Legacy has many ways of doing things :-)) To find people with certain date ranges you can click on Search > Detailed Search > Look for whom? - Individual > Where to look - Birth Date > How to look - After > What to look for - 1850 (for example) > Second Condition > And > Look for whom? - Individual > Where to look - Birth Date > How to look - Before > What to look for - 1900 > Clear List before this search > Create List. Once the list of individuals is created you can Tag them all and then can step through them one by one in the Family view. Click on the coloured tag number when you complete each one in order to clear it and you can then return to do the remaining ones at a later time. Other methods that could possibly be used to identify your records are to go to the Master Location List and tag all the individuals using certain locations or to search the Modified Dates (similar to above but using Modified Date instead of Birth Date) for the time frame of your additions. You could also first tag all the "France" individuals and then use that set tag as a third search criterion in the Birth or Modified date search to weed out the non-France individuals that match your dates. Hope this helps. Cheers, -- Dave N. -- David Naylor, Halton Hills, Ontario, Canada. ---
