If so make a BACKUP of your old family file and RESTORE it on the new computer under a different file name. See if that one is OK. > I have searched these archives and the closest to instructions seem to > be: "...Cancel the Report to stop building the report. If it comes to that then you need to break a few links in your tree (make notes where you do this) so you have multiple trees. Then check each of these trees to see which one has the problem. To view the different trees click on View > Tree Finder > Refresh. From this window you can tag all individuals in a tree to see just who's included in it. When you know which tree has the problem you can re-join the others and then split the problem one further until you narrow down to the link(s) causing the problem. When going through the individuals in the problem tree, watch the spouse and parent icons to see if any show a number greater than 1. If they do then verify that the extra spouse or parents are correct and should indeed be linked to this individual. > I really need to fix the problem - either that or buy different > software. I think I saw somewhere yesterday that it's time to 'buy' > an upgrade. I just bought the version I am using last October! A free upgrade is likely available to you.
