I set up my mother's ancestors as separate a family from my father's ancestors. Now I would like to print a report with the two groups combined. Is it possible? Can I merge the two families? Also, can I copy Master Sources from one family to the other without typing it all again. 3. Georgia: You need to create a common person in each file (probably yourself as a child of your parents). 1. Back up both of your old family files - remember the old file names. You can save each file with a new name, maybe using today's date (Assumes Smith & Jones family files). "Smith_Family_18Apr06" and "Jones_Family_18Apr06" 2. Open one of the files & then go to "View", "Split-View" and open your 2nd file. 3. Position your common person (yourself) in each of the family views. 4. Drag & drop yourself from one file over yourself in the 2nd file (This will start the merge process) You will want to merge everyone in the file. 5. When the merge completes, Legacy will check for duplicates. You will have to merge the common person (yourself & maybe your parents) to complete the process. That's it, you will now want to save this database with a new name (Smith-Jones_Families_18Apr06) rather than your old names of "Smith_Family_18Apr06" and "Jones_Family_18Apr06". Hope this helps.
