Eliz, I found that I got multiples when I would work on one line and then move to another line and there is a link, but I would forget that the person is already in my database!! This seems odd, but with some of my lines they intermarry through all the generations. These are mostly cousins and not direct line. You can do a duplicate record search by going into Tools, then Merge. Select Find Duplicates. Then it will take you to a screen to backup your database. You should do this cause you might make a big boo boo and want to start over. Then it gives you a menu to choose how you want Legacy to look for duplicates. Once you are through with that, then it will give you a list. Now, all your Unknown people will be considered duplicates!! So, be careful. It will "merge" the information so you don't lose the links, and it asks how you would like to merge. You can also skip over ones that you don't want to mess with. I spent several hours going through this. You can save the search and come back to it. Good Luck!!
