Dave, This has happened to me when I knew there was a child but did not know the sex. Then when I found info as to the sex of the child, I couldn't figure out how to do it so just deleted him and put in a girl. Where is the Title Suf. field? Hi Mary; On the Individual's screen, look just to the right of the Title Suf. box under the icons. There you fill find three buttons; "M", "F", and "?" You can select the sex here, with ? for unknown. They will be grayed out when there is a spouse. If you have the Husband and Wife in the wrong place the you can go to: Edit tab on the Family view and click "Swap Husband and Wife" to fix them. I hope this helps.
