Diane Which Legacy Charting add-on do you use, Legacy Charting Companion, or Tree Draw 3? I have Legacy Charting Companion and like the pedigree type charts it produces; however, the descendant charts are undesirable. Legacy Charting Companion is simple to use, very little help comes with the program, and may produce the result you want. I like the common ancestor to be at the top of a descendant chart. I can't figure out how to rotate a chart in Charting Companion. I also would like more flexibility in shaping the chart. The Charting Companion has almost none or at least I can't figure out how to manipulate the size of boxes, etc. Genelines is another program that creates charts, but it does not sound like the program you are discussing. That program is simple to use as well, but if you are wanting better results from the charts it creates, one will need to spend time improving the historical libraries which can be altered. Thanks for your time. Gordie Diane Murach <dmurach@starstream.net> wrote: I purchased the Legacy Charting add-on and really liked it. Last Christmas I made pedigree charts for each of my nieces and nephews' families. I saved it on a disk and took to my local Kinkos. They printed it on a plotter and each chart was about 36" and 24 ". (Just an estimate for size) I purchased the cardboard roll mailers and sent them off. They had been bugging me for something about their genealogy and I'm not ready to put my findings in a book. Still need to collect land and probate records.
I have Legacy Charting Companion, but have only used it for a pedigree chart. It did the job I needed done, but I'm not that familiar with it.
